The Passing of Dr. Clyde Cook

President Corey has announced the death of Dr. Clyde Cook, the President Emeritus and one of the longest serving leaders in the history of Biola University.

Dr. Cook was a major force behind the creation of Torrey Honors Institute, the sponsor of Scriptorium Daily.

(When I first met him when Torrey was but a dream, he asked me how Torrey planned to cope with new technology! As usual, Dr. Cook’s questions inspired thinking and then he provided the stable space for doing.)

He honored us by becoming a member of the Institute.

Hope and I personally mourn his passing. He was a Father in Israel and a great leader.

With all the faculty and Torrey family, we pray for the Cook family.

The University will be releasing more information soon about memorials to Dr. Cook and we will link to it here.

Scriptorium Daily is planning a series of essays regarding Dr. Cook’s influence and life in the days to come.

Christ have mercy!
