One ally, the United Kingdom, foiled a terrorist plot that could have killed thousands of Brits and Americans as they traveled.
Another ally, brave Israel, fights for her life against terrorists and Iran.
Our president, George Bush, leads this alliance which is not as big as it will be when other nations recognize the risk we face.
This is a lifetime struggle against a wicked ideology that would use religion to destroy liberty and civilization. It is easy to carp at mistakes Bush made. . .I am told the Normandy invasion was a botch, a disaster of sorts, but it put us on the road to victory. We were there and we were not going back until Germany was defeated. Iraq is not perfect, but we are in the Middle East . . . one democracy has a chance to exist other than Israel and we must not go back.
We cannot vote for any candidate who does not take this threat as seriously as Truman and Reagan (a Democrat and a Republican) took the Cold War.
